Alex Pietrangelo Signs Massive Contract!

The Alex Pietrangelo sweepstakes are over. The Vegas Golden Knights and Pietrangelo have agreed to a deal that pays the defenseman, $8.8 million over a seven-year term.

The Stanley Cup champion was wined and dined in Vegas over the past couple of days, and the visit included tours of the arena, the practice facilities, and of course, the community where Pietrangelo and his wife, and young family are going to be calling home for the foreseeable future.

The Golden Knights are expected to now deal Nate Schmidt to make room for Pietrangelo, as the team needs to be under the cap once the season starts. 

For Vegas, perhaps they now look at Pietrangelo to be their captain, as the franchise has yet to have a captain since entering the league. The deal includes a full-no move clause.

Alex Pietrangelo is a Golden Knight and the fans in Columbus, Boston, St Louis, Calgary, Colorado and Toronto all go to bed disappointed.
