Calgary Flames Make Another Free-Agent Splash
The Calgary Flames continue to be busy this off season as the team has announced they have signed forward Dominik Simon to a one-year contract. Simon spent last season with the Pittsburgh Penguins where he tallied 22 points in 64.

The deal pays the Czech native $700,000 and gives the Flames a depth forward who can move up and down their left or right side. Simon spent some time last season with Sidney Crosby and showed he can produce if given the ice-time along side some big guns.
The Flames have already added Chris Tanev and Jacob Markstrom from the Vancouver Canucks as the team goes through a re-tool and Simon will hopefully be able to provide the team with further secondary scoring.
Calgary now has 20 players under NHL contracts for next season and currently sits with just under $3 million in cap space. They were long rumored to be open to moving players from their top-six forwards, but it's been awfully quiet as of late.
That could change quickly though, as it only takes a spark...
