Connor Brown Cashes In, Signs New Deal in Ottawa

Connor Brown and the Ottawa Senators had an arbitration hearing booked for Thursday morning, turns out they won't need it. The Sens and Brown have agreed to a three-year deal that sees the right-winger paid $3.6 million per season.

The 26-year-old Brown broke out for a career season in Ottawa last year, eclipsing the 40-point mark for the first time. Brown, who was acquired via trade from the Toronto Maple Leafs, enjoyed his first season getting top-six minutes, and it resulted in some solid production and two-way play. While 40 points is nothing to shake a stick at, the team is expecting him to be able to hit 60 on a regular basis and be a difference maker in his own end.

With all the changes in Ottawa and some new found confidence, Brown could have himself another stellar season and solidify himself as a top-six forward in the league. He's certainly being paid like one now...
