DONE DEAL: Montreal and Columbus Make a Deal
The Montreal Canadiens and the Columbus Blue Jackets have agreed to a trade. Montreal sends LW/C Max Domi and a 3rd-round pick to Columbus for RW Josh Anderson.
We reported back on September 1st, Max Domi fell out of sorts in Montreal and the team began to field calls.
After a successful first year in Montreal which saw Domi collect 72 points, Domi struggled to find his game and had a down year, finishing with 44 points last season. It was obvious Domi's movement around the lineup hurt his game and he could never get comfortable with his game.
Anderson, on the other hand, has battled injuries after posting a 27-goal campaign back two years ago. Last season for Columbus, Anderson only racked up 4 points in 26 games.
Both players are restricted free-agents and will require new contracts from their new clubs.
With the Habs sending a 3rd-rounder in the trade, the early consensus is Columbus won the trade.
