Henrik Lundqvist speaks about his future!
The 'King of New York' is now a free-agent, and come October 9th, Henrik Lundqvist will be fielding calls, as the long-time New York Rangers goaltender is interested in staying in the NHL.
Once it was announced the Rangers were buying-out Lundqvist, there was some speculation brewing that he may head back to Sweden to finish out his career. Turns out, that's not the case!
Washington and Carolina would be interesting options. I see the Caps as a reasonable proposition. We shall see. https://t.co/scS1rBeMgI

TSN's Pierre LeBrun took Lundqvist tweet a step further and mentioned Carolina and Washington as potential landing spots. Carolina has been trying to upgrade their goaltending position all off season, and Washington is going to need a cheap backup to newly minted starter, Ilya Samsonov.
Two other teams to consider are the Pittsburgh Penguins and the Vegas Golden Knights. With both teams locking-up their new starting goalies, they are going to need a veteran backup at a reasonable cost, and Lundqvist fits the bill.
The NHL is a better place with Henrik Lundqvist in the league.
