Montreal HC Claude Julien Explains Why Max Domi Was Traded
The Montreal Canadiens were the surprise team that came out of the NHL's playoff bubble exceeding expectations and showcasing just how good they could be. With the likes of Nick Suzuki and Jesperi Kotkaniemi using it as a coming out party, there were some Canadiens who weren't so lucky.
Insert, Max Domi.
Recently the head coach of the Canadiens, Claude Julien spoke to the media, and admitted the play of others is one of the reasons why Domi was dealt to the Columbus Blue Jackets for winger, Josh Anderson.
You talk about (Nick) Suzuki, (Jesperi) Kotkaniemi, two young centers that the organization really wants them to succeed. When we started training camp, obviously Max wasn't there for the first week, so we put our group together, we started, and all of a sudden we see both those guys, especially Kotkaniemi, really doing well.
