Patrick Marleau Signs One-Year Deal to Chase History!

Patrick Marleau is only 45 games behind Gordie Howe, on the all-time games played list, next year could be the year!

Marleau has signed a one-year deal to return to San Jose for a third stint, as the two agreed to a $700,000 salary. Marleau spent last season between San Jose and Pittsburgh. He struggled as a Penguin, only managing 2 points in 8 games and no points in 4 playoff games. Before the move, Marleau put up 20 points in 50 games for the Sharks.

The new deal with San Jose does not have trade protection, but because of the 20-plus year relationship between himself and the Sharks management, there's no chance Marleau is moved unless he's asked first.

Patty Marleau is back and next season we could all be witness to history!
