Patrik Laine Trade Rumors are Heating Up!
Patrik Laine was supposed to be a franchise player for the Winnipeg Jets, when the team selected him, second overall at the 2016 draft. Turns out, that's not the case at all.
The trade rumors have been swirling for a couple of years now around the Finnish sniper, and this off season they are as hot as ever. We reported back in September that Laine's camp had asked for a trade out of Winnipeg, and recently more information has surfaced.
"Cheveldayoff reiterated that he is looking at all options when it comes to trade and that Patrik Laine remains a big part of the Winnipeg Jets organization ... there is a clear understanding between both sides about where this is probably headed." #GoJetsGo

Laine has never seemed comfortable in Winnipeg and his recent displeasure is based on the fact he feels like he's being tucked away on the team's 2nd-line. His head coach wants more out of him, and he wants more out of his head coach. Doesn't sound like it's going to work out for Laine as a Jet.
With Winnipeg recently acquiring Paul Stastny, don't expect Laine to be dealt for a 2nd-line center. The Jets have turned their focus to an elite young defenseman, and the teams who have been in constant dialogue with the Jets include - Colorado, Florida, Minnesota, the Islanders, Buffalo, and Columbus.
It's only a matter of time, Patrik Laine is getting dealt.
