Report: Vegas and Florida Have Agreed to a Trade
The Vegas Golden Knights are doing whatever they can to try and convince free-agent Alex Pietrangelo to join their team. The team is also busy trying to make room for him.
According to several reports, the Golden Knights have a deal in place to send defenseman, Nate Schmidt to the Florida Panthers, in what would be solely a cost saving move to free up enough money for Pietrangelo's massive contract.

While some have disputed the trade is finished, it does sound like it will be formally announced when the Pietrangelo contract is finalized and signed.
In Schmidt, the Panthers would be getting a smooth-skating defenseman, who has five years left on his deal that sees him make just shy of $6 million per season. Schmidt finished last season with 31 points in 59 games. His no-trade clause includes a list of 10 teams, however, it's assumed Schmidt wouldn't mind going from the sunshine in Vegas to the Sunshine State.
