Rumor: Alex Pietrangelo Considering Three Teams!
The Alex Pietrangelo sweepstakes could start and finish all in the same day, as 'Free-Agent Friday' is going to be a busy day across the NHL. The best defenseman on the market did not sign with St Louis before Friday's deadline, and now any deal with the Blues can only be for a max of seven years. Well, his next contract may not be with St Louis.
The Vegas Golden Knights are freeing up cap space to make a serious run at Pietrangelo, and will likely come in as the highest bidder. Whether or not, he wants to uproot his young family to Nevada has yet to be determined.
That will allow LV cap space to make a run at Alex Pietrangelo. The Golden Knights are expected to come in hot. Would something like 7x8.5 get it done?...

While the Golden Knights may have the money available and a contending team to offer, the Toronto Maple Leafs are 'close to home' for Pietrangelo and if the two sides can verbally agree on a deal, expect a couple of trades to come from the Maple Leafs to free up the money as quickly as possible.
The other team Pietrangelo's considering is, of course, going back to the Blues. As their captain and a loving member of the community, 'Pietro' has built an impressive career in St Louis and we'll all have to wait and see if it continues this weekend.
***One wildcard team to consider.....
Before everyone tells me they already have Jones and Werenski, I just want to point out #CBJ has opened up a lot of space, Jarmo Kekäläinen drafted Pietrangelo, and Petro is very close with asst coach Brad Shaw. Columbus could also use a forward or 2. #Stlblues #NHLFreeAgency
