Rumor: Taylor Hall to Sign in Western Canada

According to multiple sources the Taylor Hall sweepstakes are coming down to two teams. The Edmonton Oilers and Calgary Flames.

While both teams will be making formal offers on Friday, those close to Taylor Hall are expecting him to sign with his home town team in Calgary. Some have suggested this feels a lot like when John Tavares went home to Toronto.

Hall has informed the Arizona Coyotes he is not interested in playing in the desert, which has opened the door to his next contract. There have been reports suggesting Hall may shy away from a long term deal and accept a shorter-termed deal to keep his window of winning as open as possible, and to give him a chance at richer contracts once the salary cap goes back up.

The Flames are desperate for changes and need a spark on offense, and the Oilers need depth scoring more than a lot of teams.

Taylor Hall's decision will directly and indirectly impact both teams. The Battle of Alberta now has another element!
