Rumored trade package Calgary is offering is shocking
According the Elliotte Friedman of Sportsnet, the Calgary Flames have been testing the goalie market this off season and have checked in on all available tenders. The team has even sent out offers which have included a surprising name, defenseman, Noah Hanifin.
The 23-year-old, who is under a team friendly contract of $4.95 million for the next 4 years is a new name coming out of Calgary and their fan base is left scratching their heads. Considering the team is already expected to lose TJ Brodie and Travis Hamonic, have to believe if Hanifin is dealt, it means at least Brodie is coming back.
The Flames have been rumored to be offering Hanifin for goalies such as Elvis Merzlikins and Marc-Andre Fleury. The talks with Columbus got pretty deep and there's a good chance the teams double back. The Flames have also held discussions with teams regarding Sam Bennett and Elias Lindholm.
Lots going on with the Calgary Flames...
Calgary is checking in on every available goalie. I think the Flames talked with Columbus, too, but that’s cooled down. Depending on what’s available, they could do a big revamp of their blue line. When talking about Taylor Hall with New Jersey, Noah Hanifin’s name was discussed - Elliotte Friedman, 31 Thoughts
