Tampa Bay Lightning Re-Sign Two Stanley Cup Champions
The Tampa Bay Lightning have announced they have signed forward Patrick Maroon and defenseman Luke Schenn on Thursday. The deal for Maroon sees the back-to-back Stanley Cup champion staying in Tampa for two more seasons, making $900,000 per season. Meanwhile Schenn will make $800,000 on his new one year deal.

Maroon and Schenn were both beasts for the Lightning during their Cup run. Both players are as physical as they come and provided Tampa with some much needed toughness last season. Maroon also chips in on offense collecting nine goals and 14 assists in the regular season and six more points in the playoffs.
While this certainly takes care of some business for Tampa Bay, they have three restricted free agents that need new contracts they currently can't afford and the offer sheet vultures are circling!
