The Anaheim Ducks Make A Free-Agent Splash!

The Anaheim Ducks are dipping into the free agent waters as the team and Kevin Shattenkirk have reportedly agreed to a contract, as per Sportsnet's Elliotte Friedman.

The deal is believed to be worth $3.9 million on three-year term, which will be a raise for Shattenkirk, who made $1.75 million last year for the Stanley Cup champion, Tampa Bay Lightning.

Shattenkirk has become the poster boy for players who have bounced-back after being bought out. The New York Rangers still owe Shattenkirk $1.43 million for the next three years. Now, that's not a bad double-dip at all.

The American defenseman finished last regular season with 34 points in 70 games and contributed 13 more in 25 games, on route to his first Cup.

It's not likely he'll win a Cup next season in Anaheim, but it does appear Shattenkirk has a thing for nice weather!
