Three Potential Destinations for Craig Anderson

Craig Anderson had a great run for the Ottawa Senators and now the 39-year-old is looking for his next move. Anderson, has played 18 seasons in the NHL, with the last 10 in a Senators jersey, and remains the best goalie available on the free-agent market.

Three Potential Destinations for Craig Anderson:

Pittsburgh Penguins: The Penguins solved their goalie controversy by sending Matt Murray to Ottawa, it would be fitting they use Anderson as Tristan Jarry's back up. While Casey DeSmith may have something to say about that, the Penguins need a cheap veteran option in case Jarry gets hurt and DeSmith can't handle the load. The Pens don't have much for cap space left, but Anderson should come in at the league minimum $700,000.

Chicago Blackhawks: While the Blackhawks management has been under a ton of heat for the 'surprise rebuild', they need a veteran in the crease. Letting Corey Crawford walk caused quite the stir. If the Blackhawks want to avoid disaster they need more than Malcolm Subban and Collin Delia. Anderson would be a cheap option who's still capable of providing stability. His 142 games over the last three seasons should be enough evidence.

Colorado Avalanche: Injuries may have cost the Avalanche a Stanley Cup finals appearance as the team lost both goalies during their playoff run. The Avs have a ton of cap space and could bring Anderson back in for a look in training camp to see if he still has some game left. While he certainly may not be their first option, GM, Joe Sakic is known for getting the most out of his players, and at $700,000, this could be an interesting match.

Craig Anderson doesn't appear to want to hang up the skates quite yet. With 648 career games, it's where his next one takes place is the question. One thing we know for sure, it won't be in Ottawa.
