Torey Krug Reveals the Boston Bruins Were Lying
Torey Krug was busy signing a long-term deal to get himself paid in St Louis, after staying in Boston over the years on 'cheap' contracts. The Bruins have long said they were interested in keeping Krug a part of their group, and it turns out, that wasn't the case at all.

Krug said he got an offer from the Bruins "about a year ago."
Whoa. https://t.co/yDmBG8m5ZV
Krug and David Pastrnak may have been in sync, but it certainly appears Krug and Bruins' management never was. Perhaps telling the media you weren't taking a discount wasn't smart business, but neither is lying to the media saying you're actively trying to bring him back.
Not sure how not picking up the phone to discuss a deal is 'active'.
Krug ended up signing the richest contract of day one of free-agency, with a 7-year deal for $6.5 million per season with the St Louis Blues. Krug made mention this was going to be his only huge contract opportunity, and he certainly cashed in. The Blues brought Krug in to replace the product of the apparent loss of Alex Pietrangelo.
For the Bruins, they appeared to not only lose Krug, but also a little bit of his respect.
The Bruins haven’t offered Torey Krug a contract in over a year. Not once. Not anything. Conversation wasn’t even had. Don’t believe everything you hear.
