Toronto Maple Leafs Sign Familiar Face

The Toronto Maple Leafs have announced the team has signed goaltender, Michael Hutchinson to a two-year deal. The 30-year-old split last season between the Leafs and the Colorado Avalanche, where because of injuries, he managed to appear in four playoff games for the Avs and was stellar.

Even though the deal is a two-way contract, the move is a bit of a head-scratcher for the Maple Leafs.  Not only was Hutchinson horrible for the team last season in his 15 games, posting a 3.66 goals against average and .886 save percentage, the Maple Leafs have young goalies who Hutchinson is now getting in their way to develop.

Why was Hutchinson signed if they already have Joseph Woll, 22, and Ian Scott, 21, AND they signed Aaron Dell already this off season?

Anyone care to explain what the Maple Leafs are up to?
