Anaheim Ducks Sign Top Pick to Entry-Level Deal

The Anaheim Ducks have announced they have signed sixth overall draft pick, Jamie Drysdale to an entry-level contract.

Drysdale, who was touted as the best defenseman in the 2020 NHL draft, will be given every opportunity to make the Ducks out of training camp next season. Drysdale currently plays for the Erie Otters of the OHL and has represented Canada on the World Junior stage, where he was a star for the Red and White. While it's not likely he makes the Ducks next season, expect to see him jump right into top-four minutes the year after.

With bonuses, Drysdale can make up to $1.775 million per season in California. Last season in Erie, the Toronto, ON native had 49 points in 47 games.

Look for Drysdale to be a dominant force in junior hockey next season and he should be in the conversation for best player in the tournament at the upcoming World Juniors.
