Free-Agent Mike Hoffman Mulling Over Multiple Offers
Mike Hoffman is currently the best player left on the free-agent market and you would think teams would be lining up to sign the 30-goal scorer. Well, it appears there are teams lining up for Hoffman's services, it's just one thing....nobody wants to spend money.
According to Pierre LeBrun of the Athletic, Hoffman has received multiple offers from teams, but everything has been for peanuts, or 'bargain city' as he mentions.
While Boston, Colorado, Ottawa, and Nashville seem to be the favorites at this point, it's clear Hoffman is being extremely patient and waiting for the right offer to slide on his table.
Hoffman's agent, Rob Hooper had this to say to LeBrun regarding his client:
Very patient. Mike has been one of the most consistent goal-scorers the last six seasons and the last two were his best. More importantly, Mike, like every great scorer, is willing to be patient and look for the right opportunity.
Hoffman spent the last two years in the Sunshine State, collecting 65 goals over the last two seasons for the Florida Panthers. Every team could use Hoffman on their left-wing, just appears nobody, at this point, is willing to offer anything substantial.
Mike Hoffman doesn't care, he's patient, so don't expect a decision any time soon.
