Jack Eichel 'Excited' for the Sabres Next Season

Jack Eichel's name was all over the rumor mills this offseason after the Buffalo Sabres' captain admitted he was disappointed with the losing that's been taking place in Buffalo.

The Sabres management team wanted to show their commitment to winning, and went out and signed Taylor Hall to a one-year deal. Along with Hall's contract, the team announced a two-year deal for Cody Eakin and then traded for veteran Eric Staal.

The moves excited Eichel, who recently spoke to NHL.com's Mike Zeisberger and had this to say about the recent additions:

We're really excited. They're great moves from management in the offseason. Now, more than anything at this point, you want to get back to playing. I think it's great. I think it definitely sparked some excitement in me and other guys in the room. Whenever you can add people like Taylor Hall and Eric Staal and Cody Eakin to your roster and the locker room, they not only bring talent to the ice but also (a) veteran presence.

In a situation like ours where we're trying to find a winning culture with a young group and trying to figure out the right way to do things at times, I think having older guys can help you out, especially during periods of adversity.

The trio should help take some of the load off Eichel, who is in line for a big year in Buffalo.

Do you think the Sabres have enough to make the playoffs? Eichel and company certainly hope so.
