Maple Leafs Fans Will Want To See This
The Toronto Maple Leafs selected Rodion Amirov out of Russia with the 15th pick in the most recent draft. It came after the team dealt Kasperi Kapanen to the Pittsburgh Penguins, and received the pick as part of the package for the Finnish speedster. Well, early indications...the Leafs won the trade.
Amirov has been battling for ice-time on his KHL team, however, he's currently on loan playing for Russia in the Karjala Cup and is putting on an absolute clinic.
Meanwhile, Kapanen had 13 goals last season, and often times was criticized for his vision, ability to finish, and his offensive awareness.
Heads up, Leafs Nation, you have a good one on your hands....
