New York Islanders Lock Up RFA Defenseman

The New York Islanders and restricted free-agent defenseman, Ryan Pulock have reportedly come to terms on a two-year deal that sees the right-handed d-man make $5 million per season.

Pulock, 26, is coming off a great season which saw him take a nice step in his development. In 22 playoff games, Pulock tallied 10 points and also provided some offense from the back-end in the regular season for the Islanders, managing 35 points in 68 games.

With the previous trade from the Islanders that saw Devon Toews get shipped out of two for two draft picks, you knew the team was not going to let Pulock go.

$5 million per, for a right-handed defenseman capable for 40-50 point seasons, seems like a very fair deal for both sides.

Next on the Islanders priority list....
