Ottawa Senators Sign Russian Prospect
The Ottawa Senators have announced they have come to terms on an entry-level contract with Egor Sokolov. The 20-year-old Russian was a second-round selection by the Sens, 61st overall at the 2020 NHL draft.
Egor Sokolov is going to be an interesting prospect to watch this year. Scored 46 goals in 52 games with Cape Breton last year. Likely steps right into the line up in Belleville.

The natural goal-scorer has potential to hit 20 goals on the regular in the NHL and will likely see some significant minutes in the AHL next season. Last season he had 92 points in 52 games in the Quebec Major Junior Hockey League.

He is eligible to play with one of Cape Breton, Belleville or the Sens next season.
Great news for a guy who went previously undrafted and worked hard for this.
Sokolov was passed up in two NHL drafts and shows the kids to never give up on your dream even though it doesn't always go as planned at first.
The Senators are stock piling young players and prospects after the last few years they have basically cleaned house on all their veterans and provided a clean slate of talent to their fan base.
