Now this would be one of the oddest signings in NHL history, as Darling was bought out by the Panthers a couple of years ago, and is currently costing them $1.18 million until 2023. Talk about not having any leverage on your next deal, the team already paid you to go away.
Darling played last season overseas and is looking to make his NHL comeback at 31-years-old.
His last NHL season came in 2018-19 with the Carolina Hurricanes where he appeared in eight games and posted a 3.33 goals against average, and a .884 save percentage.
File this one under bizarre.
