Three Potential Destinations for Carl Soderberg

Carl Soderberg is now 'too old' for the Arizona Coyotes and will be moving on next season. Where? That's the million dollar question, which could be answered real soon. The veteran left-winger scored 17 times last season and has averaged roughly 20 goals a season for the past 3 years. Lots of teams need depth scoring.

Let's take a peek at a few teams the 35-year-old left-winger may end up on next season.

Three Potential Destinations for Carl Soderberg

Nashville Predators: The Preds are desperate for scoring and don't appear to want to meet the contract demands of Mike Hoffman, after Taylor Hall left them at the alter. Soderberg would join a team full of Swedish players, and be able to provide Nashville with some secondary scoring they oh so desperately need.

Boston Bruins: The Bruins are familiar with Soderberg, who spent three seasons in Bean Town. The Bruins have just under $7 million available, but Soderberg is only likely to take up $1 million of that on his new deal. Given the current state of the NHL, there's no chance he makes anything north of that at this point.

New Jersey Devils: The Devils are an interesting group because the team is rebuilding but also close to taking the next step. With the additions of Corey Crawford, Ryan Murray, Dmitry Kulikov, and Andreas Johnsson, it's obvious the team is trying to get over the hump. Soderberg would provide the club with a veteran presence in their bottom six, and some insurance in case Johnsson doesn't produce in Jersey.

While Nashville appears to be the favorite at this point, keep an eye on Soderberg who may end up spending the last few years of his hockey career in his native land of Sweden.
