The one-year deal will pay the veteran forward $1 million and with the Blackhawks finding out youngster Kirby Dach will be out for an extended period of time, adding Soderberg to their mix makes a ton of sense. Last season the Malmo, Sweden native played 70 games for the Arizona Coyotes and finished the year with 35 points in 70 games.
Soderberg has spent his career across three teams so far, including the Coyotes, Colorado Avalanche, and the Boston Bruins.
The Blackhawks have made a ton of news this offseason after their management team made some interesting moves eluting to a full rebuild, which upset their core players. Now they add the 35-year-old Soderberg to their forward group.
Interesting time to be a Blackhawks fan.
