Here's how the Stars handle the situation, in terms of how it shapes their roster this year, and particularly using Johns' $2.35 million cap hit via LTIR https://t.co/jjmdqAoHdl
The 28-year-old Johns has been battling post-traumatic headaches from a concussion back in March of 2018 and he's not healthy enough at this time to get back on the ice. The Stars will move the d-man and his $2.35 million contract to long term injury reserve once the season starts.
Johns, originally a 2nd-round pick back in 2010 by the Chicago Blackhawks has appeared in 167 career games and tallied 33 points.
We wish Johns all the best with his recovery.
