Devils and Capitals Announce Helmet Ad Partnerships
We brought you the news last week regarding the NHL finding ways to generate revenue and it's being reported the first two teams have finalized their brand partnerships for helmet ads next season.
The New Jersey Devils and the Washington Capitals can add another income to the list, as the Devils announced a deal with Prudential, and the Capitals with Capital One.

There's been a ton of talk as some have argued the players aren't billboards and appreciated how the NHL didn't allow any ads on any part of the uniforms. Meanwhile others side with the league and know the financial burden the pandemic has caused is unbelievable.
It won't be long before every team partners up, so expect some more to be announced later this week and into the beginning of the season.
One thing the league should consider is in the bigger markets where perhaps the team isn't as financially impacted, help the smaller companies and hold a lottery and name a contest winner. So instead of making money off it, help some people. Do it monthly and change it up and spread the love.
Unfortunately the league would likely be against the move. Some would argue, 'they have their own business to worry about.'
Guess so.
