The 56-game season kicks off with the Pittsburgh Penguins facing the Philadelphia Flyers, the Toronto Maple Leafs taking on the Montreal Canadiens, the Edmonton Oilers battling the Vancouver Canucks and the Colorado Avalanche playing the St Louis Blues. There will also be a banner raising ceremony in Tampa Bay before the Lightning take on the Chicago Blackhawks.
Surely has some quirks as for instance the Maple Leafs play in Edmonton for three games in late March, and the Anaheim Ducks and LA Kings faceoff against each other five consecutive times from April 20th to May 1st.
Some notable games include January 26th when Alex Pietrangelo and the Vegas Golden Knights take on the St Louis Blues, January 14th when Alexis Lafreniere makes his Rangers debut against the New York Islanders and January 17th when we'll see a Stanley Cup rematch between the Lightning and Dallas Stars.
