Minnesota Wild Sign Free-Agent Goaltender

The Minnesota Wild have announced they have come to terms with free-agent goaltender, Andrew Hammond. The 'Hamburglar' signed a one-year, two-way contract with the Wild, and looks to head into camp and win a spot.

The team is mighty thin when it comes to goaltending depth, and it was announced on Wednesday, the team will be without Alex Stalock for a lengthy period of time.

The Wild will be relying on big things from free agent pickup, Cam Talbot and now have a wide open competition for the back up position. Stalock is expected to miss roughly two months.

Look for the 32-year-old Hammond to battle it out with the 24-year-old, Kaapo Kahkonen for some minutes. The two are familiar with each other, playing together in 2018-19 in Iowa.

Hammond spent last season with the Rochester Americans, where he posted a 2.52 goals against average in 33 games.
