Nashville Predators Sign Prokop to Three-Year Deal
The Nashville Predators have announced they have come to terms with Luke Prokop, on a three-year entry level contract. The Predators selected Prokop with the 73rd overall pick at the 2020 NHL Draft.
Prokop is a typical Predators style defenseman who is big and plays both sides of the puck. At 6-foot-4, and 217 pounds, Prokop played last season for the Calgary Hitmen in the Western Hockey League where he finished with 23 points in 59 games. Doesn't it always seem like the Preds' draft defenseman from 'the Dub?
Prokop is still only 18-years-old and is a few years away from legit minutes with the big club in Nashville, but Predators' fans should be thrilled with this selection and contract. The Edmonton, Alberta native has represented Canada on the national stage and there's a great chance he's going to develop into a solid Top-4 d-man.
Also doesn't hurt his motivation to improve when his favorite team growing up is the team who drafts him.
Dream come true. Thanks to everyone who has gotten me to this point. Can’t wait for the future with @PredsNHL #Smashville pic.twitter.com/2SB2QjbF46
