Ottawa and Tampa Bay Complete a 4-Player Trade
The Ottawa Senators continue to make noise this offseason as the team has acquired defenseman, Braydon Coburn and forward Cedric Paquette from the Tampa Bay Lightning for forward Marian Gaborik and goaltender, Anders Nilsson.
Tampa GM Julien BriseBois had said he had a other move likely coming even after Kucherov going on LTI made the Bolts cap compliant. He wanted more cap flexibility.

The Senators also receive a second-round pick at the 2022 Draft, meanwhile this move has everything to do with the Lightning clearing more cap space to be cap compliant for January 13th.
Both Nilsson and Gaborik will not be playing this season so as Pierre LeBrun mentioned, they move to LTIR, which frees up just enough money for the Lightning to be able to dress a full lineup.
The Senators add some depth pieces, which has become quite the overhaul to the roster in Ottawa. The team has turned heads this offseason and if they are able to get some steady goaltending from Matt Murray, and some of their young core continues to develop, look out for the Senators as early as next season.
