Report: Senators and Coyotes Talking Trade
The Ottawa Senators and Arizona Coyotes are two teams headed in opposite directions and it turns out this could align them perfectly for a trade. According to reports, the Sens and 'Yotes have been chatting on a move that includes Derek Stepan heading to Ottawa.
Hearing Yotes and Sens are talking. #Stepan Has one year left of a cap hit at 6.5, but actual salary of 5. @TSN1200

Stepan would provide the Sens with some depth at center behind Colin White and Chris Tierney. The Senators have been busy making over their club and if Stepan can come in and produce, the team may actually surprise in the North division. A lot will ride on goaltender Matt Murray and his performance in his first year in Red and Black.
As for Stepan he's coming off a season where he finished with 28 points in 70 games. With only one-year left on his deal, this move would be low-risk for the Sens and if Stepan can turn back the clock to 2018 where he had 56 points, the team could find lightning in a bottle.
Keep an eye on these two teams as the Senators are one of the only teams with cap space left and the Coyotes want to trade all their veterans.
