Report: St Louis Blues to Announce New Captain

Reports have surfaced out of St Louis stating the Blues will be naming their new captain in the very near future and the 'C' will be worn by Ryan O'Reilly.

Hard to argue with the move as O'Reilly has fit into St Louis like a glove since arriving back in 2018. Last season was an amazing year for the Conn Smythe winner and O'Reilly has rode the momentum, along with some wonderful timing with Alex Pietrangelo heading for the vault in Vegas. O'Reilly leads by example, battles each and every shift, and his becoming one of the best two-way centers in the game.

O'Reilly finished last season with 61 points in 71 games and the 29-year-old, and his career 41 points in 48 games is why he wins awards.

Expect to hear something from the Blues early next week as they get prepared to drop the puck on January 13th. It sounds like they'll be someone new taking the ceremonial faceoff for the Blues.
