San Jose Sharks Lose Long-Time Forward to SHL
Melker Karlsson spent the past six seasons as a San Jose Shark, his next season will be back in his native land of Sweden.
According to Chris Johnston of Sportsnet, Karlsson has signed on to play for the Skelleftea AIK of the Swedish Hockey League.

Karlsson's numbers don't necessarily jump off the page at you, as last season he managed six goals and six assists in 61 games, however, it's his penalty killing abilities that contributed to the Sharks being the best PK team in the league in 2019-20.
Considering he went undrafted, Karlsson turned into a valuable find for the Sharks and collected 112 points in 396 games. The 30-year-old has made just under $10 million throughout his NHL career.
Karlsson rejoins the team where it all began for him in Sweden and will surely be receiving a hometown heroes welcome next season.
