Friedman's report included the topic was recently brought up to the Board of Governors and is expected to be discussed more sometime next week.
This move would make a ton of sense as the league is currently losing hundreds of millions because of Covid and throwing ads on helmets is a great dress rehearsal to perfect ads on jerseys, which will eventually be coming according to Friedman.
The NBA reached an agreement a couple of years back for ads on jerseys and teams have been generating millions since.
The NHL is expected to have training camps for non-playoff teams opening December 31st, with the rest of the league opening camps January 3rd, and opening night January 13th.
