13 Year NHL Veteran Scores First Hat Trick
Fun fact: Pavel Datsyuk never scored a regular season hat-trick during his career. Wayne Gretzky scored 50 regular season hat-tricks and an additional 10 playoff hat-tricks. While some of the game's best have retired without netting three in a single game, this Vancouver Canucks' veteran can add this to his list of accomplishments.
Brandon Sutter has scored the first NHL hat-trick of his 13 year career. He buried his 3rd of the game behind Matt Murray as the Canucks defeated the Senators 7-1. He is one of several members of the Sutter family to play in the NHL. In fact, he becomes the 6th Sutter to score an NHL hat-trick. He's only 5 more away from tying his father, Brent Sutter. While there are not any fans in the stands at this time, Sutter's new teammate, Braden Holtby, helped him celebrate by tossing his hat out onto the ice.
