Allan Walsh Calls Out The NHL For Not Protecting Players
Player agent Allan Walsh back in the news again after voicing his opinion on the NHL's failure to protect players. Some view his outspokenness as controversial and uncalled for while others believe he is an effective advocate doing justice for his clients.
Walsh is upset at the NHL does not have adequate sanctions against all forms of head contact. He acknowledges that there are (sometimes called) penalties for body checks to the head, but all forms of head contact, intentional or not, must be prohibited in the game of hockey. Walsh currently represents 29 clients and has witnessed several of them adversely impacted my concussions and related symptoms.
I talk to GM’s, coaches, players, former players and almost everyone agrees with banning all contact with the head and nothing changes. Why? Simple answer. Gary Bettman. He’s against it. https://t.co/jcdzMRsafJ
