Big Injury Blow to the Winnipeg Jets
The Winnipeg Jets take on the Toronto Maple Leafs on Monday and they will do so without sniper Patrik Laine who took the morning skate, lasted five minutes and then headed off. His head coach, Paul Maurice confirmed the news and it appears it's a upper-body injury that is lingering.
So far there's not been a timetable given for Laine's return.
#NHLJets HC Paul Maurice says F Patrik Laine is out with an upper-body issue, he's day-to-day. Nikolaj Ehlers is in up front, Jansen Harkins draws in. D Logan Stanley is in, as we already knew, for Tucker Poolman.

Laine was banged up during the Jets season opener against the Flames and appears the pain is too much. The 22-year-old has been blasted in the spotlight this season as his agent came out last fall and suggested a trade may benefit both his client and the Jets.
So far this season, Laine has two goals and one assist and was dominant, with one of his best performances of the season. He dropped the gloves, saved a goal and scored the OT winner.
