Brad Marchand Admits He Wants Nothing to do With Zdeno Chara
The Boston Bruins and Washington Capitals are set to faceoff on Saturday and for Zdeno Chara it's going to be strange playing against his former team. While Big Z is certainly excited to get out on the ice against the Bruins, it's his old teammates that are a touch scared of what's to come.
One thing's for sure, Brad Marchand isn't going to do anything to piss Z off.
He's the kind of guy where when he's out there, you're an opponent. He's not going to have any friends out there. He's going to play the game and compete and battle. I'm not going to poke the bear in any way. The biggest thing I can do is just skate away from him. If you get within that reach or his grasp, then you're not going anywhere.
And while Marchand has what seems like a very smart strategy, Chara is excited and hopes it's just another game for him:
I don't think it's going to be any different. He's a guy who will always go out there and compete for his teams. I think we had many practices against each other and we both compete pretty hard. I don't expect anything else from him or anybody else.
