Zary, 19, was the 24th overall selection at the 2020 Draft. Last season Zary played for the Kamloops Blazers of the Western Hockey League and put up some big numbers, 86 points in 57 games. Zary is currently representing Canada at the World Junior Hockey Championships.
Flames fans get a chance to see the team’s last two first round picks play on the same line together for Team Canada. Jakob Pelletier and Connor Zary will line up on either side of Quinton Byfield for the team’s 3rd line against Slovakia starting now.

Zary started the tournament as the 13th forward for Canada and has worked his way up the lineup.
With the potential of no junior season taking place across Canada, there's an outside chance Zary is available to the Flames should they have their fair share of injuries.
