Dallas Stars Missed Out on Free-Agent

The Dallas Stars went all the way to the Stanley Cup Finals last season and came up short. Turns out their management team came up short this offseason as well.

According to Elliotte Friedman of Sportsnet, the Stars went hard after free-agent Erik Haula, only for Haula to sign in Nashville with the Predators on a one-way deal.

Haula spent last season with the Carolina Hurricanes and Florida Panthers, finishing the year with 24 points in 48 games. The versatile forward has also made stops in Vegas with the Golden Knights and with the Minnesota Wild. In 405 career games, the 29-year-old has put up 175 points, and also has chipped in 23 points in the 48 playoff games he's appeared in. The Preds are hoping this type of production keeps up and Haula is able to provide an offensive boost the team drastically needs.

As for the Stars, they were given the news that Tyler Seguin would be out until April and were looking for ways to supplement the lost offense. Unfortunately for Dallas they came up just a touch short.....
