Detroit Red Wings Announce Alternate Captains

Dylan Larkin has been named the Detroit Red Wings' 37th Captain in team history. The choice of alternate captains may be surprising to some, but their veteran presence will only better serve them as leaders.

The Red Wings have announced that Frans Nielsen and Luke Glendening will be the alternate captains this season. Many feel that Anthony Mantha and Tyler Bertuzzi are ready to take on the role, but the experience of both Glendening and Nielsen cannot be understated.
