Don Cherry To Be Appointed As Governor General Of Canada?

Canada's Governor General, Julie Payette, has stepped down after an internal review found that she created a toxic work environment. Rebel News has now formed a petition to influence Justin Trudeau to appoint Don Cherry as the next Governor General of Canada.

Obviously this isn't going to happen for a number of reasons. First, Cherry is a right-wing conservative and a leftist-liberal like Prime Minister Trudeau would never go for it. Second, if you recall to late 2019, Cherry was dismissed from Hockey Night In Canada after saying "you people" in a rant against Canadians who don't wear the poppy and appreciate soldiers. Whether you love or hate Cherry, it's hard to argue that he wouldn't be accused of creating a 'toxic' work environment.
