Edmonton Oilers head coach calls out the media!
The Edmonton Oilers and Toronto Maple Leafs have a ton in common. Both teams have superstar forwards and teams who love to play that up-and-down fast pace exciting style we have grown to love. Both teams also take a ton of heat about their lack of defensive play and some untimely questionable goaltending.
And while the critics love to pick out all their flaws on a regular basis, when both teams finally clamp down on some defensive structure and play a 'shutdown/boring' game....where's the love? Oilers head coach Dave Tippett is wondering exactly that after the Oilers beat the Leafs 3-1 on Wednesday.
Tippett "It's almost funny to me how everybody talked all summer about Toronto and Edmonton have to defend better and then Toronto and Edmonton actually defend well, and now they think its a bad hockey game. It just baffles me sometimes hearing what's going on."

Tippett is indeed baffled as 4000 media members in Toronto try and pick a part his team while the Oilers are staying put in Toronto for a few days, gearing up for their second game in three nights against the Maple Leafs.
You be the judge. Was this game boring? Let us know in the comments.
