Edmonton Oilers Make Roster Moves
The Edmonton Oilers are doing whatever they can to prepare themselves for the battle that ensues in the newly minted 'North' Division. The team has brought in some fresh and some familiar faces and head coach Dave Tippett can't wait to get started. The team is expected to battle for a playoff spot and a lot of the team's success will come down to their power play.
The addition of defenseman Tyson Barrie will certainly give the Oilers a new wrinkle. Barrie loves to shoot the puck and when he gets his feet moving can easily change the tempo of a shift. Barrie is slated to join the big boys on the first power-play and is someone to watch in the world of fantasy hockey. His head coach had this to say about the set up:
I can guarantee you that there’s conversations about that every time we have a power play meeting or go into game. That’s the one thing I think Tyson Barrie will help with, he’s got a little more shot mentality.
Tippett carried on throughout his media availability where he also provides some details on opening night, their taxi-squad and the new look power-play:
