Edmonton Oilers Make Surprise Roster Move
The Edmonton Oilers have decided they are waiving forward Tyler Ennis just seven games into the season.
Ennis signed a new one-year deal in the offseason worth $1 million, and in four appearances this season he's yet to register a point and is a minus 4. Considering the health of James Neal and the comeback of Jesse Puljujarvi, Ennis has become expendable for the team.
Last season split between the Ottawa Senators and the Oilers, the 31-year-old Ennis finished with 37 points in 70 games and also chipped in with two points in three playoff games.
With injuries and COVID absences piling up all over the league, there's certainly a chance Ennis gets claimed.
Tyler Ennis placed on waivers today. Was a very popular figure in #Leafs dressing room during his season in Toronto and produced well enough (12 goals and 18 points in 51 games). On a one-year, $1 million deal. Wonder if Leafs don't ponder a claim given their injuries.
