Flames Sam Bennett Requests A Trade
On Saturday night, Sportsnet's Elliotte Friedman reported during the Hockey Night in Canada broadcast that Calgary Flames forward Sam Bennett wants out of Calgary.
The 24-year-old former 4th overall draft pick back in 2014 has never really been given a top-six role with Calgary. He's signed for this season, making $2.55 million, and currently has one assist in seven games. Bennett is averaging only 13:29 of ice-time so far this season, and it's now obvious he's looking to move on where he can play a bigger role.
Last playoffs Bennett was a force with five goals in 10 games and eight points total. Flames fans thought this was the beginning for Bennett to find his spot with the core but unfortunately that doesn't sound like the case at all.

While the Flames don't seem to be in any rush to make a move, Friedman confirmed through Bennett's agent Darren Ferris that the request has been made to be moved.
Expect the Pittsburgh Penguins, Toronto Maple Leafs, and New Jersey Devils to all have some level of interest as these three teams have been linked to Bennett in the past.
