Florida Panthers Making Surprise Roster Move
The Florida Panthers are an interesting team to watch this season. The Panthers management team has brought in multiple free agents over the years, made some big trades, hired new coaches, and now it's time to win.
Turns out they also have another agenda this season....play a younger defense group, which does not bode well for Keith Yandle.
This is something to watch over next few days....FLA's first two games (vs DAL) were postponed. Yandle's 866 games consecutively-played streak is longest active (and 4th all-time). Will there be a spot for him? https://t.co/mhgrxcHkgy

The 34-year-old Yandle has three years left on his contract making $6.35 million per season, including a full no-movement clause.
Last season with the Panthers Yandle recorded 45 points in 69 games, which are great numbers. It comes as a shock the team would not want Yandle in the lineup. In 976 career games, Yandle has tallied 573 points. He's one of the best offensive defensemen of his era and there would be a long list of teams lined up if the Panthers made him available.
Doesn't sound like that's the case just yet, but this is certainly something we will monitor closely as the season begins.
