Maple Leafs Forward Dealt Tough Injury News

The Toronto Maple Leafs received some 'good news' today as forward and top prospect, Nick Robertson is only expected to miss roughly four weeks after slamming into the boards awkwardly in his first game of the season against the Ottawa Senators over the weekend.

Robertson was hit into the boards and turned funny, and there was a ton of speculation regarding if it was potentially a torn ACL, which thankfully for everyone involved it isn't.

Robertson burst onto the scene in time for the playoffs last season and after two games finally got his crack in the lineup. The 19-year-old has spent the past five months training in Toronto. This while he could have easily been at home in California after the season but wanted to show the team his commitment level to improving.

A proven scorer in junior with 50-plus goals his final season, Robertson was held back from the recent World Juniors so he could continue to prepare for the NHL season and then something like this happens during his first game.

Tough blow for Robertson who will learn from this and come out stronger on the other end.
